Albert Ernest Nellis died 27th Feb 1907 Killed on line by train at Brighouse Yorkshire.

He was born 1886 at Stockport Cheshire. I can follow him from birth to 1901.

I have his death cert & no address is stated, but I would like to find out more about him 1902-1907.
Anyone know if theres anything on line I could view please.

Thank You,
Joan

Malcolm Bull's Calderdale Companion lists:

Thursday, 21st February 1907 Albert Nellis [19], a railway engine fireman of Low Moor, Bradford, was killed on the railway at Brighouse

Although date slightly out, it does give him living Low Moor, Bradford

Poss. 3 avenues to explore: the local newspaper (from which the above is, I imagine, taken); the electoral register covering Low moor; railway company / magazine archives

I believe the Bradford Observer has been indexed for this period, so it might be an easy look-up. Try emailing Bradford Central Library, which houses the Local Studies unit.

Also, the National Archives holds railway accident reports in RAIL 1053, but you would have to visit Kew in person, since this accident doesn't appear to be indexed in the catalogue.

Thank you, I will try emailing Bradford Observer. I have no chance of getting to Kew as I'm in the North west of england, but thanks anyhow.
