Hi, I've been looking at this for the first time tonight and it only took 5 minutes to find my first target. She is Caroline Gooding who died in 1908. The entry says " probate Bristol to James Perrett watchmaker, effects £890 19s 6d."
I've read the notes on Ances*** but they don't explain what this means. Does it mean that James Perrett was Caroline's beneficiary or that he was dealing with her affairs?
Also, does anyone have a clue as to how much £890 would be in today's money? Its more than I've got today!
Many thanks
Sue
