Mary Ann (Marie) Horton born Batley Dewsbury Yorkshire area was an actress with her sister. The whole family were tied up with the theatre. Their father Joseph Horton was a music condutor and when he got older he turned pianos. One of the brothers was a carpenter that work in the threatre area and Jane T Horton I think worked with costumes. Marie must have changed her name between 1891 and 1901 from Mary Ann to Marie. On the 1901 she is Marie and occupation is an actress so she must have changed it for her job. In 1901 she is living in a share house with other performers in the Derbyshire area. Her sister Hannah Lily Horton changed her name to Lily Horton, she was an actress too. I have been having a lot of trouble finding Marie because changed her name. Do you know of anywhere they might keep records on preformers and the show they preformed in?
