This man was a Doctor around the Bournemouth area.

He married Caroline Houldsworth in 1877.

His daughter Mary married George Walter Boughtwood and then went on to marry Edwin Joseph Wheeler (which is my wife's side of the family)

The above was also supposed (so family folklore says) Major of Hartlepool ?

Any info on this man regarding is medical background or Major of Hartlepool , would be very useful.

In 1911 census they are living in Darlington and he is a Herbalist. You may already know this , do you need any details from that census?

In 1881 he was a medical student and lived at 32 Camden Street Islington. I doubt the hospital he worked at was far away from there.
Mary was 2 years old. Do you have her birth certificate, it may give more details?

In 1891 he was still at Camden Street and a Mary Holdsworth was a boarder (Caroline's sister?).
He was still a Medical Student. No sign of young Mary.

Do you have a subscription to ancestry? There is a public tree on there that has George Dixon Mitchell. It is a very good match .

The owner of the tree is HilaryMackie1.

Also if you have the marriage cert for Georges daughter it should have his occupation (doctor or herbalist!)

Well, we do now know that from 1877 to 1891 he was a medical student in Islington.
From 1901 to 1911 he was a herbalist in Durham.

Not sure where Doctor, Major or Bournemouth fits in.

Sorry not Major that should be Mayor ! (sorry typing error) of Hartlepool. One of my notes says he became a surgeon ?
