I have a letter from my husband's great grandmother.
It is dated 1 March 1918 she is writing to her son Alfred (Ally). The address is Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
In it she has written a short note, squeezed in at the top of the page, probably an after thought. It reads
"Did you see last weeks John Bull what he said about our coast guard (1 illegible word) he was right many lives have been saved (2 illegible words)"
Is there some way of finding anything about this story in John Bull?
