I would appreciate any help with this.

Lilias Patrick was born in Dalkeith,Edinburgh in 1877. Her parents were John Patrick & Christina Patrick (nee Hunter).

She married a David Pratt 1894 Cupar, Fife. They had three children Joan, Euphemia and John. They are on the 1901 Kinross census. Haven't been able to find them anywhere in Scotland. Neither the childrens marriages or Lilias's death.

I do know David Pratt re-married in 1935 in Edinburgh. His death cert says he was a widower (no name given). He died 1942.

Have wondered if the children moved down South and Lilias died there.:confused5:

There is a Euphemia Pratt on the 1911 Census at a school in Sunderland but noted as a resident of Dundee.
1911 Census
PRATT, Euphemia
SUNDERLAND, Durham
Reference RG14PN30194 RD555 SD2 ED13 SN476

Hope this helps

There is a possibility this could be the daughter of David and Lilias Pratt. The only thing is, she would have been 15 years old in 1911, unless, it was a college for further Education.

If only the 1911 Scottish census was available, then I could confirm David and Lilias Pratt were living in Dundee.

Would it be possible for someone to look up English marriages for:

Joan Pratt b.1894 Cupar, Scotland
Euphemia b.1896 Cupar, Scotand
John Pratt b. 1900 Scotland

I searched for them in Scotland between 1917/1935 but drew a blank.

Could you please tell me if there is a John Patrick on the 1911 census for Sunderland. John was an Uncle to Euphemia and may be the reason she went to Durham. Just looking at all options.

Hello fortyseven
I've had a closer look at the 1911 Census. Euphemia P is age 15 and is described as an inmate. The institution is a Girls Reformatory School at 3 Tatham St Sunderland. Perhaps Euphemia had been a naughty girl!

Hello rogtut,

Thank you.

Certainly looks like it and the age fits as she was born 1896 I just wish I could be sure this is the right Euphemia Pratt. The only way I can confirm this is by seeing the Scottish 1911 census which, isn't available till April 2011. Wish I could find marriages for them as mentioned in one of my posts.
Just when one thinks they are getting nearer, there are doubts.

If you have any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

Hi,

My post has been moved and not sure if this it where it' gone.

On my last post geneious asked for the spelling of Lilias - I am sure it is Lilias, but could be wrong.

As this thread duplicates a couple of others with regard to Lilias, I am closing this one. It is best to keep all related material in one thread to avoid duplication of effort on the part of both other members who may be assisting and the original poster.

The other thread can be found here (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?59494-Marriages-in-England-1917-35)

The thread you refer to as having been moved was actually also closed by another Moderator. It hasn't moved though and for reference, it can be found here. (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?59660-Death-in-north-England-1930-34)
