William Arthur Born St Columb Minor

I am trying to find the parents of William Arthur born 1811 in St Columb Minor, Cornwall, he was married to Ann but I am also unable to find marriage certificate.

Can anyone help please?

Have you found the family in 1851? If so, where was the bride shown as originating from?
I ask because there was a William Arthur marrying an Ann Luxon in St Enoder (my home parish) in 1836. Ann was a St Enoder girl, but William was listed as a "sojourner", so perhaps from St Columb Minor? Not sure if you know the area, but St Columb Minor parish covered Newquay as well in 1811 and the Newquay/St Columb Minor area is very close to St Enoder. As you will know, it was common for a marriage to take place in the bride's parish.

Edit: Aha - Is the family living at Churchtown, St Columb Minor in 1851, with several children? If so, then Ann is indeed shown as being from St Enoder - which fits my theory.

Found a William on the 1841 census in St Columbia Major.

I think that family are actually in St Columb Minor, rather than Major, Colin. If it is the family at Tregustick, then they were living near Porth, which is at the St Columb Minor end of what is now Newquay.
There are at least three places within a few miles of each other called St Columb - Minor, Major and Road.

Hi Mark. Although born in St Columb minor seemed to move to Major later on. Also on 51 census

Hi Spinner,

I have William Arthur, born 1811 in St Columb Minor, married to Ann Luxon in 1836 in St Enoder. I have his mother as Elizabeth, born 1781, St Columb Minor, (and I have never found a marriage for her). Have her as poss daughter of William Arthur and Ann Pasoe, whose son William Arthur born 1779 is my Great Great Great Grandfather .
