I'm searching for traces of a music hall artist who, according to my late father (who was born in Wilton) came from wiltshire and sang songs in Wiltshire dialect. The only fragment of lyric I can remember, and I suspect it was a monologue rather than a song, is " Whut be price o' hay, Sammy, whut be price o' greens, whut be price o' turnip tops and whut be price o' beans. Whut be price o' heggs, Sammy, whut be price o' pork and whut be price o' they gurt things as waddles when 'em walks."

Does anyone else have knowledge of this chap. It's not Edward Slow, as I
have a copy of his dialect verses and that one is'nt there.
