We've just returned from the Wiltshire archives with several very exciting (to us!) very old wills and inventories from the 1600's and 1700s. They are written in English and the copies are excellent - but very difficult to read by our inexperienced eyes... We'd very much like to find someone who we could hire to 'translate' them for us. The copies are very clear and would, I think, be relatively easy for someone to just read and dictate onto tape...

We also have a number of wills in Latin that are completely beyond us!

Would appreciate any ideas or recommendations about how to get these translated!

You could perhaps contact Simon Martin (http://www.parishchest.com/shop/index.php?cmd=listlinkeditems&cat=D9120&supplier=&breadcrumb=The+Bookshop%3AProfessional+Researchers :Simon+Martin+BSc.++AGRA+Member) to see if he would be able to help. Have a read of his résumé by clicking on the link.
