I thought I'd post my Radnorshire interests here to try to spark off some discussion. I'd love to see some links coming through from these forums.
My Woosnams are of St Harmon, mainly in the first half of the 19th century. Elizabeth married William Jones on 10th July 1857. I have some hints that they may have originally hailed from further north (the Llanidloes/Llandinam area on Montgomery) but until I've got some early parish register evidence for St Harmon I'm unable to prove that.
William Jones was the middle of three generations of tailors (earlier generation may also have practised this trade). Both his son John (b 1860) and his father William (b abt 1803) had this occupation, together with various uncles and brothers. My great grandfather, William Woosnam Jones, though, was a policeman!
If any of the above is of interest come on into the thread!
Regards, Neil
