Isobel Barker

Isobel Barker was a Professional Singer, according to the 1911 Census, visiting her sister and family. The Head of the household is my G Grandfather. I can remember my Dad telling me of a singer in the family and would like to find out more about her if possible. In 1911she was single, aged 45 and was born in Kilburn, North Yorkshire. She may have worked in Manchester.

She seems quite easy to spot in the census
1871 the daughter of James and Elizabeth
1881 a servant for the Sanderson family
1891 a servant for the Metcalf family
1901 living on own means with her married sister, Elizabeth Hodgson

I cannot see anything to do with a singing career though, Sorry :(

Thanks for looking Mutley, I have her on the census. I wondered if anyone could shed any light on her professional life which must have happened as she got older. 1911 must have been Music Hall or theatre I would think
