please can anyone advise me on how to research a probable catholic marriage in Liverpool around 1860s time. My ancestors were living in the Mount Pleasant district.

The 2 most useful sites are Liverpool History Projects http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co.uk/
& LancashireBMD http://lancashirebmd.org.uk/ . With the latter, if a marriage says "Register Office or Registrar attended" it often means the marriage took place in a Roman Catholic church.

The RC church registers are at Liverpool Central Library. They have slightly different information from the marriage certificate.
