Is anybody else researching these families, who were in Blyton (Stows and Gleadles) , and Willoughton (Frankish & Smith) from the late 1700's definitely.
The Stows tended to very large families, with two generations each of over 10. Two brothers, Hezekiah and my own ancestor Eliakim (who married Hannah Gleadle), had moved their families to Ashby by the 1881 census, presumably to profit from the growing industry.
Matthew Frankish, who was the miller in Willoughton in the 1840's and 1860's, originated from Middle Rasen.
I'd be very interested to hear from fellow researchers, or to learn if there any local / village histories for the two places.
