Was wondering if anyone could help me please i cannot find my relative James Prime Coote in the 1861 and 1871 census..

James Prime Coote born 22 Oct 1828 child of James Coote and Charlotte Hutchinson
1841 Royston
1849 married Sarah Ann Wren Royston
1851 Back Street Royston....Bricklayer
1881 Town Hall Broxbourne...Police Sergent
1891 Rye Road Hoddlesdon...Retired
Death 1898 Ware

He had the one child Joseph John Coote 1853

I believe this is him in the 1871 (transcribed as John, a police constable):

Belinda, have you noticed that on the censuses his wife is Mary A not Sarah Ann? Also have you got the birth certificate for son Joseph?

Can't find them in 1861 yet! Will keep looking

Yes he married Sarah Ann Wren and had Joseph then he remarried a Mary A although i do not know her maiden name and cannot find Marriage Cert
