I have a g grandfather that I have been searching for for ages havehit a brick wall.

Frank George Page Wood was born in 1849 in Chatham, Kent. His father is given as William Wood in Frank's obituary. It also said William and his wife (and other children?) can to Australia were William was in the army for some years before returning to England. Frank was left behind with a minister so that he could be trained. He would have been only around 10 at the time.

I don't know if your William Wood is connected to Frank but I would appreciate you getting in touch with me and as the information is very simular could you keep an eye out for my Frank's family too.

Fingers crossed. Abby

I have a Thomas Wood born about 1756 and died during 1843, who about 1787 married a Susannah. They had 9 children that I’m aware of: Ann, Richard born about 1790, Harriot born in 1792, Thomas born in 1796, Mary born about 1798, Winifred born about 1799, William born about 1801, Charlotte born about 1803, and Charles born about 1806. This family seems to be primarily in the Smarden area.

It doesn’t look like there is a connection to your families but please keep me in mind in case you stumble across something. I’ll do the same.

Maggym and Abby, I found another researcher that has posted some information on the Wood family in the Kent area. I'm just going through it now. You might take a look to see if the connection you seek is there.
Happy hunting. ..................Ed
