I am looking for emigration records for Owen Elliott Glendinning. He was born May 3, 1899 in Lancashire,England. He served in the British Forces in WW1. I have a picture of him that apparently was taken before he left for Canada (approx 1917 or 1918??) I do not know if he came via Canada or the USA. I do not know if he was married before he left England or if he married here. Owen and Annie Hillary (born in England 1899) had 3 children in Manitoba & possibly Sask. here in Canada(1925-1929). Any ideas on how to find out?

You might try searching ships' passenger lists, Ellis Island (in case he entered Canada by way of the US) and Canadian citizenship records.
Here are a few websites to get you started:

I have checked out the majority of your suggested sites with no luck. It seems that his emigration may fall between dates of posted listings and when naturalization was necessary. I think I saw somewhere a list of ships hired by the British government but don't remember where. Where there special emigration ships hired for people who served in the war for Britian?

During both World Wars some training of soldiers etc was done outside of England. Owen could have been sent by the Army to Canada to help train soldiers, and decided to stay in Canada. You may need to find his WWI service records to see if that helps.

I have found 2 records for Britian for 2 service medals for Owen for WW1(haven't sent for them yet). He apparently lied about he age to get in(too young). He is listed as a private. I am also told he lied about his age for WWII as well (he was too old for that one) when he signed up for Canada.
