Help with a Lincs Place Name

I'd be grateful for your considered opinion on where Gervas Gill comes from in the County of Lincoln. It's from a 1733 bond by the way.

"I Gervas Gill of xxxxx in the county of Lincoln, yeoman, and John Singleton..."

How about Navenby?

A 'v' often looked like a small 'b' & if you look at the Nottingham just above the type written 'of good & lawful Money' you will see the first letter is formed the same way for 'N'

I think you must be right, Sally. Navenby it is!

I suffered a crisis of confidence because I'd originally transcribed it as Hac(c)onby and have recently realised it was probably wrong. I needed someone else to confirm my suspicions!!!
I see now that the N is identical to the N in Nottingham and the V is fairly similar to the one in St Mary the Virgin.

Also I think I see this guy in the IGI under Navenby! Hey ho...another PR to add to the list of things to do.
