Angela,

Have you tried looking for your great grandparents in the 1901 census for England? You can do free searches online at 1901census online.

There is the following family listed on the cenus, living at 16 Conway Street, Everton, Lancashire in a 2-room dwelling:

Name / Age in 1901 / Birthplace / Relationship to head-of-house / Occupation
John D Caldwell 23 Liverpool Head Ships sealing ["Harb" is inserted here] labourer
Margaret J Caldwell 21 Liverpool Wife
John D Caldwell 1 Liverpool Son Evert
James Caldwell 59 Liverpool Father Boilmaker

Source information: RG13/3473
Registration district: West Derby
Sub-registration district: North Everton
ED, institution, or vessel: 5
Folio: 134
Page: 16
Household schedule number: 107

John's and Margaret's birthplaces aren't listed as Isle of Man but I wouldn't rule them out on this point alone -- enumerators frequently failed to list birthplaces correctly.

There are a couple of QUINE families, whose members' birthplaces are listed as Isle of Man, living in Everton at the time of the 1901 census.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your search.

We Are Having A Look At The 1901 Census.
My Sister Is Taking Info To My Aunt In Liverpool She Is The Oldest
And See If This Looks Right.she Might Know What Her Grandfather Name Was.
Margaret Jane Caldwell Remarried So I Was Told, Her New Name
Was Hallmark And Had Children With Her Second Husband.

We Found A Intersting Site Called Commonwealth War Graves.
We Think We Found The Child Who Was 1yr Old In The 1901 Census
He Was A Air Raid Warden During The War And Was Kiled.
My Mother Remembers Her Unlce John Being Killed During The War And Going To The Wake With Her Family In 1941 .she Was A Chlid
But It Made A Impression On Her .his Wife Name Was Beatrice My Mom Rememebers Because She Was Blind...
We Think The Census And The War Info Might Match Because John D.caldwell Who Died In 1941 Was 41yrs Old. And In The Census In 1901 The Child Was 1 Yrs Old .
With Margaret Remarring Can I Still Research Her And How With Her
New Last Name...
Thanks For Your Help.

Angela.

Unfortunately, it's more difficult to research family after 1901 because existing records aren't made easily available, however, I'm sure there are Forum members who can help you out with some advice specifically about the Isle of Man and Lancashire areas.

If no one responds right away, don't give up, wait a few days, a week and ask again. There are some very knowledgeable people out there.

Good luck.

Hi Angela, you seem to be running 2 threads asking for similar information, so that we do not confuse you can I suggest that only information regarding your family in the Isle of Man be posted on this thread, and the Lancashire (Liverpool ) side be posted on the other.

I am certain a kindly Moderator will link both threads so that you/us can flit between both of them, is that ok with you.

As this thread blends with this one (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?5247-caldwell-family) I'll close this one for ease of assistance.
