Looking for BRODIE family from Barony previously from Knapdale Argyll. Donald Brodie married Ann Gilchrist and they had at least one son Charles born 1833 living in Barony in 1841 census. Charles emigrated to Australia in 1859.
Also David McARTHUR probably born Glasgow who married Mary MORTON 1838 and had children Agnes 1840, David 1838, Ann 1843 and Mary 1845. Agnes and Mary ended up in Australia as well. Agnes marrying Charles BRODIE above and Mary to a Hugh Macready in Sydney. David jnr died at sea off Victoria in 1873. David snr remarried Janet FERGUSON who had daughter Margaret living with them in 1851 under name of McArthur. David, Janet and Ann disappear off the census. Did they emigrate to USA? There are records of all three names on Ellis Island but I have no idea if they are the ones I need. Any help appreciated
