I have found a distant relative on the following list:

http://www.nimh.nl/nl/images/1941%20sec_tcm5-7282.pdf

I can figure out most of the column headings except the last one-B/O.

Can any one hazard a guess or see if there's an explanation of this column heading in the text, please?

The person I am interested in is SS Fielden whose crash took place on Sept 8 1941. ( I had already found a "missing on active service" notice in The Times of Sept 1941)

Thanks for any help

Not so sure about the B's being for British - a quick look at the list shows a number of Ju88s with a B against them....

I just did a bit more searching and found him on a POW site.

I'm wondering if the B and O could be captured or not, so am off to find an online Dutch dictionary.

I found 2 words beginning with B for capture-beetkrijgen looks likely . And 3 words beginning with o that mean escape-ontsnappen, ontkomen and ontgaan.

I work with several Dutch people on a Monday. If you have not sorted it out by the weekend then nudge this thread to the top of the posts on Sunday and I will take it into work with me. ;)

Thanks Mutley
I'll post if I find any more and/or nudge.

The O means that some data about the crew is missing, There is a key to the volumes in the first one:

http://www.nimh.nl/nl/images/Inleiding%20en%201939%20klaar_tcm5-7278.pdf
(page 9)

- Een aanduiding of alle gegevens van de bemanning bekend (B) zijn, dat nog gegevens ontbreken (O).

An indication of all data from the crew members (B) are still missing data (O).
