Hi
Can't find anything on any of the names on Ancestry and only found a B... Kemp born 1911 - 2 months old on the 1911 Census I haven't got any credits left to look to see who else is in the household but there aren't many only 7 Kemps in Jersey.
do you have anymore info that could help.

Hi Lynda

Bit confused. Which of the children is the one born in 1909?

(1911 census data removed by Moderator).

Before I look at the parents (as it costs so much) it would be useful to know if B..... is the eldest.

I have had another look on Ancestry but no Kemp's are comeing up at all in any of the Channel Islands. The only one is George Lucas Kemp .... He is in the Kelly's directory of 1927 Private Resident - Hillside, St Aubins in the Parish of St. Brelade.

May be Stewart can come up with something

Hi Lynda

What I've done is to go through the index for St Helier births and have found the following:

B... E... M... Kemp, St Helier births, 6th June 1914 to 2nd Sept 1916, volume 56, page 32.

E... H ... Kemp, St Helier births, 4th Sept 1916 to 28th Aug 1919, volume 57, page 39.

J.... Kemp, St Helier births, 4th Sept 1916 to 28th Aug 1919, volume 57, page 73.

C..... Kemp, St Helier births, 28th Aug 1919 to 29th Sept 1921, volume 58, page 60.

B..... Kemp, St Helier births, 1st Oct 1921 to 10th Dec 1923, volume 59, page 11.

I..... Kemp, St Helier births, 1st Oct 1921 to 10th Dec 1923, volume 59, page 46.

P..... C..... Kemp, St Helier births, 29th Jan 1926 to 19th April 1928, volume 61, page 88.

A..... Kemp, St Helier births, 15th Nov 1930 to 19th April 1933, volume 63, page 4.

P.... Kemp, St Helier births, 15th Nov 1930 to 19th April 1933, volume 63, page 84.

I could not see an entry for P..... Kemp.

As I had to look up the certificate for another request I looked at the details for B..... Kemp.

B..... was born 24th Dec 1921 to Percy Herbert Kemp and Adeline Julia Kadrewell. Percy's occupation was an econome ( a burser).

Hi Lynda

Here are all the Kemp births not already mentioned between 29th Jan 1907 and 20th Sept 1941. Obviously I cannot see who the parents from the index. They were all born in St Helier.

B..... E..... 12th Sept 1910 to 2nd Jul 1912, volume 54, page 21
B..... H..... 6th Jun 1914 to 2nd Sept 1016, volume 56, page 82
D..... 10th Dec 1923 to 27th Jan 1926, volume 60, page 100
M..... 20th Apr 1928 to 14th Nov 1930, volume 62, page 44
M..... B....., 20th Jul 1935 to 22nd May 1937 volume 65, page 39
P..... 24th May 1937 to 25th to Apr 1939, volume 66, page 52
B .....P..... 24th May 1937 to 25th Apr 1939, volume 66, page 29

I also checked the St Helier deaths for Kemp's from Mar 1904 to Feb 1933 and found:

D....., Dec 1928 to Feb 1931, volume 55, page 84
M..... A....., Feb 1931 to Feb 1933, volume 56, page 94

I would have a look at the Jersey Archive web-site at:

www.
jerseyheritagetrust.jeron.je/archive.html

Under name enter Kemp and you will see all the records they have. Under some of the names, for example A....., you will see they have Registration Cards. This means they were on the island during the German Occupation 1940 -1945. A..... is down as living at Laburniam Cottage St Mary as a child of F..... De Gruchy, born 22nd Nov 1930.

If they have their own Registration Card it means there is a photo attached.

Other names show that they wished to return to the island after the war.

I haven't gone through them all but you may find them of interest.

This list of names suggest an awful lot of children for one mother!!

Hi Lynda

Details on how to get certificates can be found at:

http://genuki.weald.org.uk/CHI/alex/CIResearch.html#faq4

However, the price of a certificate is now £20 (that's because copies aren't computer generated, they are reproduced by hand).

As for adoption papers can I direct you to this web-site and suggest you call the number listed. I believe that adoption papers are not relatively available.

Hi Stewart.
This family is a branch of my tree. I did some research quite some time ago and there were 13 children that I knew of.
Did you get the info online, or do you still have to go into the registry office?
Like I say its been a while.
Thanks
Alison

Ps Lynda has found me via email since this thread started. :-)

Hi I dont know if you ever found the information that you were looking for but C.....Kemp is my uncle and still alive at 90. I never knew his father but know that his name was Percy, am not sure about the mothers name. A lot of the children were sent to be fostered and adopted including my father (post 1900 adoption information removed by Moderator). Hope some of this helps.
