I am trying to trace relatives of the Roberts family in Stoke. Hubert Henry Roberts married Martha Eaton in 1889 and they had at least 10 children: Ann Jane (1889), Martha Sarah (grandmother who later changed her name to Mona Patricia and moved to London bn 1892), Harry (1894), Minnie Matilda (1896), Frederick Anthony (1897), Florence Victoria (1898-1904), Alfred William (1899), Gertrude Elizabeth (1901-02), Anthony (1905) and Harold (1907).
Until recently we always believed that Mona/Martha Sarah only had one sibling - Minnie. However the 1901 census proved therre were many more. Contact with a relative of Harold says that there was family dispute which meant that many of the children did not speak to or of each other for many years. I would be interested to hear from anyone who may have a connection to this family (especially Ann Jane who I believe married John Grocott in 1919).
