Can anyone help me with finding Margaret/Agnes Steel (she was known by both names) on the 1851 census for Colton near to Ulverston. She was born 1830/31 in Colton. Details of parents and siblings would be a great help.
Many thanks
Julie

Hello Julie, Looking on LDS I could find 2 Margarets in Lancashire B:1828/29 but none in Cumbria (where Colton & Ulverston are). If you are looking for a Margaret in Lancashire let me know and I will have another look. There are a total of 27 across all counties for the period 1828 - 1830.

Kind Regards
Peter Euston.

There is another Steel family on the opposite page in the 1841 census. John head, age 45, husbandman. Ann wife age 30, Ann 8, Isabella 6, William 2. Brother maybe?
