This is the most fantastic site and the members extraordinary.

I want to thank pottoka especially, for her invaluable help to me in tracing my ggrandfather's birth in France.

Pottoka discovered the birth records for my ggf and his 2 France-born siblings and sent me photocopies, transcriptions and translations of all the records from French to English. Currently she is engaged on obtaining official copies from the Town Hall in Le Havre.

And, she forbids me to mention repayment of costs.

I'm sure that I would never have obtained the details of the births without pottoka's assistance. The transcriptions, translations etc are the icing on the cake, wonderfully sweet to savour.

What a wonderful person, please salute her!

Sincerely, Desley |jumphappy

Seconded, a lovely person |hug|

BG has a silent army of foot soldiers, they do what they do, in the background, not for reward or thanks but simply to help others.

I doubt that all our members really know much about the foot soldiers and what wonderful people they are. Maybe at some point a really special person will PM you and you will be amazed at their willingness to help.

Sharing and Caring foot soldiers.
I salute you all.

I share your opinions of this wonderful site. Everyone does their share, and so the world turns, with a big circle of people helping each other. Three cheers for Brit-Gen and its members.
