Please can any one help
I am researching the Ashbys of Finchingfield and can’t find the Parents of my 3x Gt Grandmother Ann Ashby bn abt 1773 died 1809 or make a connection with the Ashby’s of Finchingfield, Joseph Ashby (Ann’s base born son) Father Joseph Cornell my 2x Gt Grandfather was orphaned in 1809 aged 5 yrs
I have found in the 1821 census for Finchingfield a male person aged 16-20 yrs living as one family in one house with Elizabeth Ashby aged 71- 80yrs the age is right for Joseph and there was a Elizabeth Ashby baptised at Finchingfield 20th October 1754 daughter of Richard and Sarah again the right age .Could she have been Ann’s Sister or perhaps her mother?.some one must have looked after Joseph from the age of 5 years
