Hello group,

I've been a lurking member for a few months, but this is my first post.

My 3g-grandmother, Elizabeth LOWNDES (nee ROGERS) is not to be found
in Staffordshire in 1851; she was in Gnosall, Staffs. in 1841 (born outside
of county) and died in the workhouse in Wolverhampton in 1860 at age
81. Her husband, John LOWNDES, a baker, died in Church Eaton, Staffs.
in 1837. Her eldest child, George LOWNDES, has also gone missing after
the 1841 Census (in Wolverhampton), and I think she might be living with
him.

I know not where, but having already extensively searched West Midlands
1851 name indexes, I am hoping that a long shot look for her in some
London name indexes might be fruitful. Do any of you have access to
an 1851 Census name index for a part of London? If so, a lookup for
Elizabeth LOWNDES, aged about 70, would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

David Lowndes
