James Edward Smith 1878/9

Hi All
My Great Grandfather James Edward Smith was born in Edinburgh in 1878/9.
He was the son of James Smith (about 1856) and Ann of Annie Lynch?
By 1881 he was in Liverpool and then Oldham before returning to Liverpool by 1901.

In 1905 he married Catherine Elizabeth Williams who was born in Amlwch Wales in 1879.

I know his parents were James and Ann or Annie but not sure of her surname.

Any help would be fantastic.

Have you tried searching for the birth registration of James Edward on ScotlandsPeople?

It is pay per view - you buy credits - and is explained in this sticky (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36108).

If you can find the birth registration, it should help to confirm the name of his mum. That will then make it easier to find his parent's marriage.
