Can we have some idea of what part of Hampshire your g-parents came from?
I have 1885 and 1911 directories, and there are any number of BARKERs in them.
Not many CHISHAMs, more common is CHISHOLM, but here is one from 1911 -
JOHN ALEXANDER CHISHAM, 6 Park Terrace, London Road, North End, Portsmouth.

Hello and thank you.

My gparents, were Selina (Chisham) and Albert Leonard Barker, I dont know many of their children, Alfred and Frederick were 2. I believe they married in 1903 and Frederick, my father, was born Feb 1911. They came from Portsmout, I don`t know the district though.

Thank you so much, Fredp :-)

I made a boobaa, on my first message. My gfather, was Albert Leonard, not Alfred. I yhave since found out, that Selina, came from Portsea and I believe Albert, from Silverstoke. How can I determine, who their, parents brothers and sisters were?

My head is in a spin Haha.

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

Allthe addresses I gave you would come under the PORTSEA ISLAND Registration District, including the two CHISHAMs.

I xcan find no SILVERSTOKE anywhere. I think it should be ALVERSTOKE which is on the other side of Portsmouth Harbour. I found no BARKER there in either 1885 or 1911, but in neighbouring GOSPORT, which comes under ALVERSTOKE Registration District, in 1885 was -

JOHN BARKER, Shopkeeper *& Baker, 55 North Street, Gosport.

It is of course only heads of households who appear in the directories, and usually our. I found no BARKER there in either 1885 or 1911, but in neighbouring GOSPORT, which comes under ALVERSTOKE Registration District, in 1885 was -

JOHN BARKER, Shopkeeper *& Baker, 55 North Street, Gosport.

It is of course only heads of households who appear in the directories, and usually only when they own the property or are in trade or the professions, so there may be relatives among the names I have found, even if none of the Christian names match.

Best of luck, FredP.
