Hi everyone,where will i find information on a soldier serving in the ww11. I only have his name,number and on his marriage cert states he is a sapper.Appreciate pointing me in the right direction.

Sapper tells me he was in the Royal Engineers (RE) or the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) or the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers [Militia] (RMRE)

I believe their museum and stuff is at Chatham - the RMRE Museum is at The Castle House in Monmouth.

Thankyou Peter,i have just filled the sar form in only to find it will cost £30Not a lot in the scheme of things but too much for me,thanks anyway.

Thankyou too Ladykys,i do now remember hearing about the Royal Engineers but thats about it.I will look into the museum angle.Thanks to you both.
