From trying to decipher a birth certificate, I think my ggggrandmother was called Mary Ann Heavysides or possibly Horvysides, married to Thomas Thackray and living in Stretton (Keighley district) in 1846
There are a few instances of the Heavysides surname name on freeBMD - does anyone else have any links? or alternative suggestions!

Thanks

Margaret Thackray

Searched the latest NBI and of the 13,000,000 + deaths listed, there are no Horvysides, however there are quite a lot of Heavysides and variations of the spelling. It's not much help, but i think you can discount the Horvysides surname.

Regards,Steve.

There were nearly 350 Heaviside(s) and obvious variants in the 1881 census, concentrated mainly in Yorkshire, Lancashire & Durham. No Horvysides at all.
