John & Dinah Mardlin(g) lived in Sandridge and had 5 daughters. Caroline and Mary Ann were baptised in St Albans Abbey in 1821 and 1823, Rebecca and Dinah were baptised in Sandridge in 1825 and 1828. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a baptism for their fifth daughter Emma. She was buried in Sandridge 15.10.1910 aged 79. Any ideas please

There was an Emma bp. 13.7.1834 but she is recorded as the daughter of William Young and Sarah Mardlin. Sarah married William Young in 1836 and Emma was with them in 1841. I have no idea who Sarah Mardlin was.

Have you worked outwards to the surrounding parishes?

St Helen’s, Wheathampstead (3 miles away)

St Nicholas, Harpenden (4 miles away)

As well as the other St Albans churches:

St Peter
All Saints
St Stephen
St Michael

Thanks Jan but I have had no luck with surrounding districts. I have even tried Redbourn, which was where her mother came from. I am surprised because she became a teacher and I would have thought that they should have been baptised, but perhaps her parents just never got round to it.
Thanks for your input.
