Hi Raaa.

Would the letter be to/from someone in Jersey. The reason I ask, is that my family go back a long way in Jersey and I know that there was a Jersey French patois. Although based on "traditional" French, the patois contains phrases and words virtually unknown outside of the island.

At one time, I was doing a great deal of translation work from old Jersey property documents, so I became familiar with phrases and words.

I certainly don't mind having a look at it if you wish.

High resolution scan if possible.

Hi David. Thanks for the copies. I recognise it instantly as typical "old French" Translation requires familiarity of the phrases rather than word for word.

I have replied to you via e-mail with regard to passing the images on to a friend.
