Hi

I've just printed a manifest page for a ship's voyage from Liverpool to Canada in 1910 from the web site 'collectionscanada.gc.ca'. I'm having difficulty in reading the one of the column headings. Has anyone seen the full size manifest pages (or have you got a BIG screen) and can tell me what the column heading is for the one immediately to the right of:
"What is your intended occupation in Canada?".

Also
On the Canada 1911 census (automatedgenealogy.com/census11) I've spotted an age written as 5/12. The birth year is 1910 so I'm assuming the age is 5 months - is my assumption correct?

Thanks
David

Hi David,

As best I can make it:

"Have you ever worked as farmer, farm labourer, gardener, stableman, carter, Ry. surfaceman, navvy or miner".

5/12 would certainly appear to indicate the person was 5 months old.
