Hello
I'm trying to trace anything about James Edward Walsh who married Margaret Henderson. The only marriage date I can find is ;

1 1909 WALSH JAMES HENDERSON MARGARET MILTON GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/09 0126

I believe he came over from Ireland when quite young.He worked for Liptons Tea.
I have an address for 1923 when my father was born -Keppochill Road
Margaret died about 1926. James died about 1937. There may be a link to a Patrick Francis Walsh who married Catherine.They had several children one of whom was James Edward. Unfortunately there is no one left to ask.
Hope someone can help

I'd look out the death certificates for both Margaret & James. (Scottish death certs give parents names which should be helpful).

From Margaret's you'll probably know whether you have the correct marriage in 1909. I'd then get the marriage details and use the couples addresses for census checks in the 1911 & 1901 censuses for siblings and parents.

Thanks Elwyn
I didn't know that the 1911 census was available for Scotland-Glasgow.
I haven't had much luck with death certs as I don't know exactly when they died. The only ones I have found so far don't show the middle name - Edward.
I think I've found Margaret

1 1927 WALSH MARGARET HENDERSON F 38 SPRINGBURN GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/06 0267

Wher do I get certs from?

The 1911 Census is not available for Scotland until 2012-England & Wales broke their promise to our ancestors & released the Census early! Money aye talks.The 1901 is available.

You should find their marriage /death details at Scotlandspeople.gov.uk it's pay to view but you will be able to view/download the actual certificate.
