Raaa...... You could try sending to the Jersey Evening Post, you never know, if they publish it you may get location and some names.

I wondered if it could be Brighton Rd School, St Helier.

I have no idea of the date but I would think that if the front row of girls stood up they would be taller than the boys at the back, therefore possibly older, only a handful of boys - so maybe the boys moved on to further education and the girls stayed put. They all look well dressed and well shod.

Don't assume that a group of children with teacher is always a single class photo -- it could be, for example, the school choir made up of a range of ages (but excluding older lads whose voices have broken).

Very true, I hadn't thought of that.

Looking at the teacher's dress I would think early twenties simply because of the lack of corsetry. The post ww1 years were very liberating for women in more ways than you sometimes think

At what point in the 20's did ladies start flapping?

I mean the dropped waist, or would a school teacher not wear the height of fashion at work?

I'd guess at earlier in the 1900's. Her hair looks to be in the chignon style. The sleeve of the dress is narrower at the top and flared towards the wrist. I think they did wear the more fancy blouses with a full bodice and narrow waist and the also the high neck collar.

All looks bit too frilly for the 20's. ;)

Have to say! It looks as though the lad 3rd from right has been "Time-warped" in from the 1950s.
Very modern look compared to the others.

It might be the whole school if it was in a little village. I was at a tiny school in Lincolnshire in 1959/60, which consisted of 19 pupils and one teacher. The children ranged from 5 to 11.
