My Great Grandmother''s brother - George Bowen was in Kerrison around 1890.
How do I find out why he was there and for how long.

My records of George Bowen

1877 February 14 - MARGATE - George Bowen – born in Margate and the son of John William Bowen and Sarah Ann Sayer –In the Census 31 March 1901 a George Bowen age 25 and born in Margate Kent is recorded as living in Camberwell and described as Petty Officer 1st Class RN’. [31 March 1901 Census]
Census 1881 George BOWEN U 5 (b1876e) M Margate, Kent, England Rel: Son Occ: Scholar
Naval Record – born 14 February 1877 St Johns Margate Kent.

He had a brother James who was with him in the same reformatory.

Can you let me have your grandmother's name to confirm that she is his sister (from my own records). Have you seen a birth certificate and the 1881 census for Kerrison Reformatory School?

Regards

Mike Reeve.

I was given this info through BG I think. Am not 100% sure it is my george.
I do not have many certificates at this time. As in cox forum (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41864) the george I spoke of is my great grandmother beatrices brother. Not even sure if the marriage to Agnes is the right one. Sorry I get confused with all this.
