Harriet COOKE was the daughter of John COOKE 'the daughter of a Bath
tradesman' and according to the Dictionary of National Biography was
born on 7 Feb 1798...... There's an entry ( two in fact) in the IGI of
that date and an 1800 date, which probably have been taken from these
biographies of her. No parish is cited in the IGI.

She became 'The famous Mrs Waylett, a singer of considerable repute' I
have various copies of biographies that are easily available on the
net. There's portraits of her too, which I have found,

BUT and this is the bit I am getting around to, I have not been able to
find the baptismal entry for her, or where she is in 1841.

She married James Providence WAYLETT in Coventry,(on the IGI) and then
after he died in Merthyr Tydfil married Alexander Lee an famous
composer. There's lot about their marriage following a court case that was reported in the Times.

I don't know what her mother's name was and therefore can't link her directly to some other COOKEs that appear in census in Bath...........

Any one come across a Harriet Cooke's baptism c1798?
