John Walter Rippington born in London. We have 1847 but a calculation from his marriage licence says he was 41 in 1890, means born 1849. also in family file he was born in Kensington, England. I hope this is part of London...lol

From marriage licence says he was born in London and mom is Sussanah and Dad is John Rippington..

I know no more. Can anyone help?

very cool thank you. talked to my mom last night and she said the Rippingtons came from Scotland. but i have not yet tried to track that down... John and Sussanah could have been married in Scotland. wow one more piece... my mom gives me bits of information... she is 83. so when I talk to her about someone she says oh ..... and off she goes... so when she starts got to keep digging.

thanks for your help could the parents of john be dead before 1871? as John came to the US...(on Marriage cert it says last location before marriage was Maine , USA) in 1873. He is in the Canadian Census for 1881. will try the Scotland forum. Thanks again

Rippington is one of my surnames of interest, though most are located around West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire from bef. 1848 to abt. 1945.

In the 1851 Census [Class: HO107; Piece: 1469; Folio: 552; Page: 9] living in Brompton, Kensington, Middlesex there is a John Walter RIPPINGTON aged 4 b. Hammersmith, Middlesex living with father John RIPPINGTON (occupation cow keeper) aged 35 b. Brentford, Middlesex and mother Susannah RIPPINGTON aged 34 b. Purton, Wiltshire and brother Thomas RIPPINGTON aged 3 b. Hammersmith, Middlesex. A nephew lives with them.

I am sure this is my family. I sent for the certificates a few minutes ago. will let you know more when they arrive. I live in Alberta Canada. John Rippington lived and died in Armstrong British Columbia. He had two children Bessie Grace and Charles.

Bessie married Earnest Hallam and they had six children.

Is this John part of the Rippingtons you are researching?

Hello Diana,

I am related to John's brother Thomas (Thomas Tipney Rippington b. 29 feb 1848, Hammersmith) (2x Great Grandfather) I have a copy of John Rippington's snr's marriage certificate. He married Susannah Angell 23 feb 1846 in the parish Church , Battersea. John's father was Richard Rippington a Pork Butcher and Susannah's father was Walter Angell, a Tailor.

I believe that Richard Rippington's wife may well have been Clementina Thompson m. 25 feb 1805, st George, hanover Square, Westminster, London.

Do you know if John and Thomas had a sister Mary? somewhere I had that info but don't know how I aquired it.
