Hi everyone
I have been really struggling to find a missing grt grandfather.
His name: William Rogers Richards born probably in Blaina / Bedwellty.
Born about 1845 with a father called William. Has anyone any ideas?
He was a commercial traveller and married in Liverpool in 1871.
Thanks

Lancashire BMD has the marriage of a Christieny Gibson or Chatterton to William R Richards in 1871. It states that one of the surnames is the lady’s former name as she has remarried but it is not possible to tell which is which from the indexes. :)

Hi
Many thanks to all the people giving the information. I did not expect to
hear so soon.
Yes, the william and Emma Richards from 1861 may be the family - but William Rogers Richards gives his father's profession as a 'merchant'. I can find no one in the area from 1841 - 1871 with that name and job. Also the middle name Rogers is a problem. It may be a maternal name but I can find no William Richards marrying a female Rogers in an appropriate time frame either. I know much about his life in Liverpool and his family but he disappears again after 1881 and I can not find his death although from other info I have I think he was dead by 1907. I'm sure a visit to Blaina is on the cards to find this mystery man.
