The newspaper (New Zealand paper) report of the arrival of the Medea, from London, 1878
"Messrs. Shaw, Savill & Co.'s fine ship Medea 1065 tons register, under command of Captain Coles, was signalled to-day from London. In consequence of the N.W. gale blowing, she had to anchor at the Heads. She brings a large general cargo, and has made a passage of 95 days from the docks. Messr. W. & G. Turnbull & Co. are agents for the ship. The following is a list of her passengers, as taken from the European Mail :- Saloon - ..... Second cabin - J. T. Robinson and A. Grant. Steerage - .....”

Would the European Mail have any further details? Where are copies kept?

I believe "J T Robinson" is, in fact, my ancestor "J G Robinson" but that is a long story, which I hope to submit in the future to the Brickwall Forum in a very condensed form. In my research JG Robinson is THE brickwall to end all brickwalls and has been for 30 years.
