I'm just starting on my mothr in laws family and I've never 'done' Ireland before.

Just wondered if anyone on this forum had come across the name Seery?

Details so far:

Mother in laws Father:
Matthew Seery (known as Michael)

b. 1 Apr 1920 (twin brother Edward)
Virginia, Oldcastle, Cavan, Ireland.
Also another brother Jim.

Matthew (known as Michael) came over to England as some point, poss late teens, we don't know how or why or much about that part.

He was married, but I believe she (unknown) died, and he then met and lived with until his death Mary Lawson. He lived in St. Anns, Nottingham, until his death in 1992.
***
Father: Matthew Mark Seery b.?? d. 1974, pig farmer by occupation.
Mother: Ellen.

I'm searching on A* but theres not a lot of Irish info on there.

A couple of links for Irish genealogy but there are lots more.
You will have to put them in to google.
I typed in Cavan genealogy and up came a site which asks you to register but says the information is free. Without registering I entered Seely in to the search box and around 90 references came up. Worth a try?
