I have hopes that someone can help me with the Marriage of
GEORGE ROBERTSON b/1886 Dundee Scotland, Marine Engineer, to Frances Gray Stuart b/1886, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Married 1913 ????.....where in USA ??
They went to USA as individuals before this time, which I have records of.
I cannot find their marriage in Scotland'sPeople, therefore think that maybe they were married USA....
They lived most of their lives, and died in Westwood Mass.
Help here would be most appreciated....|banghead|
Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken the 1930 census shows them in Boston with their adopted daughters. It states they were first wed at age 27 which makes it about 1913-14 as you've already indicated. I'm not seeing George on the 1910 census but his year of immigration is stated as 1912 on the 1930 census. What year do you have his passenger details from?
Best wishes

Hi JustJean...
On Frances Passport application it states that she came to USA in June of 1909....single.on the SS Callidonia from Glasgow.. and her death registry says she was married 1st April 1913, but not where.
One of the adopted daughter's daughter has told me that SHE THINKS they were married in Lousianna (spelling?). Unfortunately she hasn't e-mail for her to be contacted easily.
Yes I have the 1920 and 1930 census for them both and the twin children time the children first went there at aged 5/6 yrs and of frequent visits to their father in Scotland.
I have...cannot lay hand on just now...George's travel info to USA 1907/8 ? (which would make h im 21 or 22) I am sure it said.... This also was told me by Carole.
I think he traveled to USA and then back to Scotland then Back. He was certainly in Scotland 1901 census with the rest of the family.

I do not have access to US records with my sub, but A*y does show the marriage of a Frances Stuart and George Robertson in the New Orleans, Louisiana marriage Index 1831 - 1925. Date is hidden to me.

Hi Jan
The website for the Louisiana Archives has a searchable online index for the time frame you seek. Indeed there is a marriage entry in New Orleans, Louisiana that matches what you have described. http://www.sos.louisiana.gov/tabid/633/Default.aspx

Thank you JustJean.
Found and actioned.....|hug| all round !!.
But... what a rigmarole I had to get the Cert !
I could not 'get up' what you said was there, it kept telling me ....not there, then... do it again etc..
I Looked around for an e-mail address, and wrote to them. They verified it was there, so have had to e-mail details, as there was a broken link on the site...Cannot say I was overly comfortable with that - However..... Thank you - Trumps to you people again.. You are just wonderful.
Another part of the puzzle completed....:D
