My Great Grandmother, Mary Boag, i have been told, was a French Polisher, and that she kept her own surname hyphenated with that of my gt grandfather, when they married. My Gt Grandfather, not to be outdone, was a brassfinisher! They lived in Scotland, (married in Old Kilpatrick 1893),dont suppose anyone knows if there are registers of craftspersons, or guilds of French Polishers or similar in existance?
