Good evening board

Please could a kind person do a look up to see what the maiden name was of Martha marrying Thomas Savings/Saving/Savin (born circa 1799)? Also if it's shown, please could I have the marriage date. I'm not sure where they married but he was from Tackley and she was from Wootton according to the censuses - I think this also means, I'd quite like to know where they married too please if I'm not being too much of a pain! :D

I've discovered loads and loads of Hemmings and Savings/Saving/Savin for my husband's side so I'm going to order the Tackley parish registers from the OFHS but am rather confused as to whether I need OXF-CD02 (which calls itself a mixed bag but does include Tackly) or OXF-WOD02 which covers Woodstock area including Tackley. I think I'll need the Wootton registers too to trace her family so presumably need OXF-WOD01 also. If anyone can advise on this too, I've be most grateful, alternatively, I'll email someone at OFHS through the week.

Many thanks in advance.

Jules

Here you are,

Oxfordshire Marriage Index - Husbands [1538-1837]
Search carried out on 05/01/2009 from an Index dated 04/04/2008

Husband Forename From Married at Wife Forename From Year Date
SAVINGS Thomas Tackley Wootton BUSWELL Martha 1820 31 Jan

Fits nicely with what you know!

You mentioned your SAVIN interest. You might like to contact Alan Savin of
the Guild of One-Name Studies - he's done a lot of work on
the SAVIN family.

Happy Hunting ! Let me know if I can help more.

Hello Wendy

Thank you so much for your help!

After your clarification, I've just ordered OXF-WOD01 and OXF-WOD02 online so I can do the lookups myself but thank you again for the personal attention and the quick answer - I'm very grateful.

Regards

Jules
