I have a photo of a grave stone which includes the deaths of (wife) Sarah Elizabeth Briser, Joseph Briser (1939) age 79, and (daughter) Phyllis McAllister (1957) age 73
These three obviously lived into the 1800, I have been able to find Phyllis Briser in the 1891 census living at 1 Winers Court, St Mary Carlisle with her parents. Joseph would have been born in 1860, I have been unable to find him in the 1861/1871/1881 census. I know mistakes have been made in translating the census returns. Using wildcards, all I have been able to come up with these surnames: Bristo & Brisco for both Joseph and Elisabeth.
As Phyllis was aged 8 in the 1891 census, it is possible that Joseph and Elizabeth could be married at the time of the 1881, so I was dissapointed not to find them in the census.
Can anyone cast any light on this puzzle?
Thanks
Craig
