Hi B-G Forum members

I am resurching the life of my Great Grandfather Henry Lewes Colebrooke Miller who was born in 1870 and died in 1934.

I am particularly interested to find out more about once incident in his life which was reported in the newspapers (including the Evening News reported on 26th and 27th August 1925) of the time including pictures with the reports.

The incident happended on either 25th or 26th August 1925. For some reason best known to himself my great grandfather, then aged 54, demonstrated his disatisfaction with the government of the day and is reported to have thrown bricks/stones at 10 Downing Street, breaking some windows whilst the cabinet was in session after which he was escorted away from the scene by the police coolly smoking a pipe and carying a walking stick whilst wearing a three piece long tailed suit and hat.

I have old photcopies of some newpaper cuttings including photographs in the cuttings.

I am keen to locate a good source of reproduction of any newspaper reports of the incident and photographs if possible.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards

Richard

A bit far from you, but the British Library's National Newspaper collection is held at their Colindale Avenue Library in London and would hold papers to help.

More immediately, enter 'Archive Timesonline' into a search engine. This gives access to old copies of that paper, the saerch is free, you pay to download information.

Whilst in no way wishing to encourage criminal activity.........

I take it you have seen the reports in The Times.

If you have references the British Library can supply copies. See the website.
