Query on Blean, Kent Parish Register

Hi all, I've just received a copy of my ancestor's baptism entry and the words 'brought from Whitstable' are written alongside. At this time the family lived close to Blean parish church so why would they put this? Has anyone else seen similar in parish registers?

Hi Titanicfan.

This does seem a bit of a mystery. If they were residing in Blean then that does seem strange unless there was some connection with Whitstable. Then again, the two parishes are not too far from each other, around 4 miles.

Hi Titanicfan, I wonder if that area had to share Clergy Men from one Church to another. He perhaps took his records register with him from Parish to Parish.
