We have run Legacy now for some 5 years. We use the database on our website and have no major issues with the system. As the research expands we want to enhance the "notes section", viewable on the website, for certain significant ancestors and also provide a link to other pages on our website.

Rather than use the "Notes" section in the Legacy program, we have found that by opening the specific html page, that has been uploaded, we can edit the layout so as to put extra text where ever we wish and insert hyperlinks.

Remember that the modified page has to be uploaded via FTP and not through the Legacy program, also remember that Legacy will overwrite the modified page when one does an upload. This can be overcome, by saving the modified page "off of Legacy" and overwriting again.

As I said at the beginning, this is only for a few significant ancestors, it does involve a little extra work, but for anyone using Legacy as a web based genealogy project it can enhance the presentation.

This is the test text we have added

"Louis Chaboillez remains a mystery an enigma and a source of fascination"

By using only the Legacy "Notes" option, anything recorded there only appears at the end of the page, and there is no option for changing Font size or colour.

Any problems or other question re this, please post here
