|idea|If you are visiting Dublin for research, one of the best places to go is the Library on Pearse Street, all the BMD,s indexes are there, you can look up your page number and volume for free and then trot of to the Irish Life centre for the entry. This will save you lots of money and time, as they charge at the Life centre for each book you need to look at. They have burial indexes which you can search by name, then find the corresponding entry number in the cematary records. This then gives you cause of death, age,who buried them, who else in grave, who bought it, the Grave number. It costs money to trace a grave number if you approach the cemetary direct....lots. They have church of ireland records going back to the 1700s all on film. It is open from 10.00 am to 7pm mon to thurs and till 50.00pm fri and sat morning. Well worth A visit, much better than the National Library.
