My mum got a book out of the library recently, which she has lent us, entitled 'Guilty M'Lud' by Richard Cowley.
It's a history of crime and punishment in Northamptonshire's police force, but makes for interesting general reading, as well as from the local perspective (plus my husband is a police officer!).
There are names and pictures of some local criminals so possibly of use to those with Northamptonshire links. I've only flicked through so far (only got it last night), but there may also be info on Northants police officers.
